All right, gentlemen, let's talk a little Notre Dame offense.

We're going to sort these into two different buckets.

And we're talking what went well and what might not have lived up to expectations

or what we talked about throughout the week.

And look, at the end of the day, like we talked about,

this is the side of the ball that put up 49 points.

C.J. Carr finished with a passer rating of almost 250.

He went 10 of 12 on the day for the 83% completion percentage. The running backs combined for six touchdowns. One of them came on a

kick return, but still one of the two Notre Dame running backs combined for six touchdowns in this

one. So, Brian, I'll kick it to you first. Notre Dame's offense,

what are some takeaways? Well, I think big picture, this game is important for me. And not

because of Purdue and, like, were either of you guys shocked that Notre Dame's offense

went and moved to ball all over Purdue? Like I said, I was nervous that they weren't going to

score a lot in this game. And I predicted a 35, 24 win. I said, look, they're capable of winning 4817 or whatever,

but I just had this bad feeling that Marcus Freeman was going to sort of dictate to his coach

on offense, that, hey, look, we got a struggling defense. We need to come out. We need to control

the clock. We need to do this. We need to do that.

And basically just give us kind of some of the lazy, just pound and ground and pound offense we

saw from the last couple of years. And we didn't see that. First play the game, a true play action,

like a real play action, not like a, you know, that half-hearted shotgun play action, but a real play action and you went for a bomb on the first play. It was when they did kind of run the ball the rest of the game. That's what I loved about Denbrock's offensive gameplay. I mean, like I think CJ Carr went, what, like five of seven in the first half, something like that? And like, actually, no, three of four. He was three of four in the first half. And then he had a scramble. And, you know, the quarterback in me, the guy that wants to throw the ball over the yard to impress, you know, Quentin Burrell and Julie Jones Jr. Guys like that, like throw the ball more. but honestly what I loved about this is I don't think the game plan for Mike Denbrock was,

let's just go out there and run the ball 85% of the time in the first half.

It was, this is what the defense is going to do and we're going to make them pay for it.
