Brian, let's dive into the defensive side of the ball here in the Irish Breakdown podcast, brought to you by our friends over at Fanduil. And right now we're talking about the must-get recruits in the 2027 class. We just got done talking about the offense real quick before we dive into the individual players on defense. Can you give us a quick recap of like what must-get means for this class? Because it can have different meanings., for defense, it's a little bit different than the offense.

There's obviously the things that matter, like that matter on offense.

You know, you're trying to, you know, you'd like to have the moral victory of a highly

ranked class by the services.

I don't think it matters from a practical standpoint, as we pointed out yesterday in our

show,

the recruiting rankings don't determine how good teams are going to be because Notre Dame's two best classes or two most impactful classes on the current roster

were not top, never higher than 10th, you know, even though I think all, I don't know that anyone would disagree

that Notre Dame is outside the top, like any real analyst is outside the top five. I think there's

legitimate debate about whether they're number one. And we've, we've said this the other day,

we think they're number one, but if somebody wants to argue Texas or Ohio State or Oregon,

I'm not going to be like erroneous, erroneous, no, I'm not going to have that debate with you, right? Like, okay, I get it. Like, here's why I think Notre Dame's number one. Here's why you think this is number one or number two. Cool. They're in the top five. If somebody's like, no, they're not top five. They're behind this team. I'm like, okay, now, now you've done done it. Now, now you've, you've poked the bear.

It's time to roll.

So I don't think those things matter. But there is some, I also would be foolish to say that there's

not benefit to having a highly ranked class from a sales standpoint

when you're trying to pitch fans to be excited, when you're trying to pitch future

recruiting classes, look what we're doing every year.

You know what I mean?

Like, you want to keep this thing rolling, right?

Like, you want to be the guy in this class to help us get to this level, that kind of thing.

So there's parts of that,
