I am coming to you remotely today from my hotel in Duluth, Georgia,

where Notre Dame women's basketball opens ACC tournament play Thursday afternoon

at 1.30 against the Miami Hurricanes on the Notre Dame Radio Network. There's one that Domer

Gris submitted from the IB boards at the Champions lounge. Domer asks, is Notre Dame

Women's Basketball mathematically eliminated from hosting first weekend NCAA tournament games. If not, how many ACC

tournament games do they need to win in order to jump up in the seating? This is a, this is a

question that I would have thought like a week ago, I'd have said, stop it. You're nuts.

What, what's, come on, they're getting into the tournament. Be happy. Now, I think it's a legitimate question to ask. I'm not saying it's a legitimate thing to happen. I think it's a legitimate question to ask.

And it is not only a legitimate question to ask, Vince, it's funny because I originally had a question similar to this that we were going to talk about in rapid fire.

And then Domer asked this.

And I'm like, well, okay, we can, we can just address that in the mailbag.

And this was obviously before the Lou Holtz news, but I did want to get to it.

But it's a question that I asked someone this morning before this question was ever

submitted. And, you know, the whole, this is very much in play. It is very much in play for Notre Dame

Women's Basketball right now. It is not outside of the realm of possibility that they could still host NCAA tournament games.

And as you said, Vince, like if we would have brought this question up even a week ago

or two weeks ago, I would just say, eh, that's probably not going to happen.

But here they are with four, you know, five straight wins and the latest being over a top 10 team in Louisville.

And so right now, Notre Dame women's basketball has a net ranking of 24.

You need to be top 16 to be hosting first and second round games because you have to be a top four seats so obviously
