Matt Fortuna at home in Chicago. And man, there is a lot to unpack from Cincinnati, 24, Notre Dame 13.

Where would you like to start? With which quarterback, Matt?

I'm going to say one and then we're going to talk about the other. Okay. Honor Brian Kelly at halftime today on NBC. You know, it's interesting, Pete. I mean, I don't... Obviously, it's deflating if you're a nerd game, if you're a nerdyam fan. Like, a lot of firsts happen today as far as losing and a lot of implications for both sides will happen as a result of this loss.

But I just, this was a bill past due.

Like I don't, obviously the quarterback situation is more pressing and is something that's going to dominate all the oxygen around this program until it's settled, assuming it gets

settled. But I don't know if I come out of this game feeling any different about the flaws of

this program than I did the previous four weeks when they were four in O but treading water.

Like you just, we both picked them to win and we both look like idiots and that's fine because

we both picked them to lose against Wisconsin and they end up winning. And I I at least made the pact of myself yeah I'm not going to pick them to lose until they finally lose but like they're going to lose at some point because they're just far from a complete team right now right and that happened today and it wasn't I know people will point to coaching people will point to you know a million different things and I'm not discounting any of those opinions. But Cincinnati is just a better football team, and I don't think they played particularly well today either. I think Cincinnati should have won that game by a lot more than 11 points. They left a lot of points on the board. And Notre Dame was just kind of hanging on for dear life at the end and just couldn't really do much.

Yeah, I think that the hardest swallow if your Notre Dame is Cincinnati is better than you,

which is not something. They were favorite, though.

I mean, that's not.

But not like this.

I don't know.

I don't think that the point spread drives that point home like today did.

There was just no getting around the fact that Cincinnati is better than Notre Dame at football right now, which is if you're Notre Dame coming off the playoff, it's just very difficult to accept.

But that's where they are.

You know, Jack Cone interception was took points off the board for Notre Dame.

Tyler Buckner's interception put points on the board basically for Cincinnati.

Same with Chris Tyree's lost fumble on the kickoff immediately following.

There was, Notre Dame played very poorly today.
