Tonight was the second to final rankings that the college football playoff committee was going to release. And there was a bunch, bunch of different movement all throughout a lot of great talking points. I don't know how Brian is. I'm assuming he's the

same way. I feel very strongly about some of the movement from tonight. I am not happy about

some of the movement tonight. The committee, I think, has put themselves in a really, really

interesting spot with some of the precedents that they're setting forth with the final

rankings that come out. Now, as we know, this is before championship weekend. So the rankings are still not set. This is not what the playoffs are going to be. We're going to have a conversation about if they ended today, what are some of the matchups? But Brian, to dive into it, first and foremost, I know you were just on the CFB Nation channel talking with Bill Bender and Bill Troche about your initial gut reactions.

Now that you've had some time to let it marinate, Notre Dame checks in at number 10.

They dropped a spot and they were left by Alabama after they beat Auburn on the road, 27 to 20.

Notre Dame beat Stanford on the road, 49 to 20. But this was the week that the committee decided to jump the Cribsid tide over the fighting Irish talk us through where Notre Dame is at right now well obviously this is not ideal at all I mean this isn't good I'm not I think some people are having a bit of a meltdown right now and I don't think that's necessary but it's ideal. I'm not going to sit there and try to spend this either and be like, no, they're totally fine.

I think this is a completely irrational decision, and I think that Bill, Bender and I were talking

about this, Bama is still being treated like Bama of Nick Saban, and they're not. They had no business being ranked as high as they were last year.

They had no business being on the cusp of a playoff berth last year.

They got smoked at home on the road by 6 and 6th team.

They lost to a 6 and 6th Vanderbilt team.

And again, they never led, and they were still 11th, I think, in the final rankings.

It's absolute crap.

This is not Nick Savans, Alabama team.

This is an Alabama team that has been very mediocre for the last couple months.

This is an Alabama team that lost to a five and seven.

Like, they struggle with five and seven teams.

They lost to one from the ACC in week one. They barely beat one. I mean, the fact they

needed that gutsy fourth quarter call is exactly why they shouldn't be moving up in the rankings.
