Welcome to the latest episode of the Shamrock.

I'm Pete Sampson, joined, as always, by my co-host, Matt Fortuna.

And after, frankly, a few weeks of having guests with excellent heads of hair, We're pleased to welcome in former Clemson, offensive lineman, ACCC analyst Eric McLean. Eric, thanks for making some time for us. You look, your hair looks stunning this morning, as does, really fits in with the Shamrock. Come on. I'm just trying to blend in, trying to do my thing and, you know, go under the radar, man. So I'm glad I'm putting in here. Well, yeah, Jordan Cornett, your host, he got a haircut this week, which I didn't know he could do, and he got a fade. And I haven't reached out to him yet, but maybe you can't force and tell him he's uninvited He's uninvited from ever appearing on the shamrock again until he shaves it all off again.

0:55.8

You know, Jordan always likes to remind people that he is

0:58.7

bald by choice and so now he has the boosy fade and you know i don't know it looks good but you know i like

1:05.8

my guy uh clean and and high and tight it just looks better to me it was a little strange seeing him

1:10.6

with some some stuff up top well before hit record, I think we were trying to figure, all right, the last time you came on the show was it post-ACC championship game Notre Dame Clemson or post-Double overtime Notre Dame win against Clemson. And I think we settled on it was, in fact, the double overtime wins. So I think you're a recurring guest for whatever Notre Dame beats Clemson.

1:30.0

So I just start there.

1:31.7

Like big picture, what did you see on Saturday night?

1:35.7

It was, I think, a surprise to Matt and I being in the stadium that it played out that way.

1:40.3

But what was sort of your biggest picture takeaway from Saturday?

1:43.8

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I think total shock. Not necessarily that Notre Dame won, but just how, you know, and the fact that, you know, those guys were able to absolutely dominate, you know, up front on the line of scrimmage. And I went back and, you know, watched the tape. I don't know why. I should have burned it and never thought about it ever again.

2:01.8

But it was fascinating to see really the first play of the game. I mean, the Clemson defensive lines getting driven back, you know, six yards down field and just to run up the middle. And you're like, okay, you know, that was a little weird. And then it was just time and time and time again. And you have to give all the credit in the world to

2:18.2

those running backs who were obviously hitting the holes and having the vision to cut back when

2:22.2

necessary. But that offensive line played out of their mind. And what's fun to see, you know,

2:27.7

Big Ugly's doing their thing. And, you know, when you look at the, you know, just the defensive

2:32.3

line and the caliber and I mean, honestly,

2:35.2

at the end of the day, there's probably six guys that are going to be drafted on that Clemson

2:38.8

defensive line. And for Notre Dame, just to have their way with it, it's great tape for them. I mean,

2:43.3

they're going to get drafted because of that game and to see what was able to happen there.

2:48.4

The cutback lanes were just nuts. You know, there was no contained by Clemson. There was no, you know, Phil. I think Clemson really missing those physical corners that they had a year ago. And even by linebackers, it was an odd game. It really was. And just, you know, seeing things that I haven't seen from Clemson in a very long time with just being undisciplined,

3:08.8

missing tackles, and ultimately just not doing their job.
