Summary

Your enemies sealed the tomb. God still opened it.

Alex teaches Matthew 27:62-66 and reveals 6 characteristics of the enemy β€” fake, flippant, feeble, fickle, futile, and fallible β€” and why understanding them protects you from blaming yourself when people come against you. Nothing the enemy does can derail what God has already ordained. Not a seal. Not a guard. Not a lie. Lokelani closes with a raw, honest reflection on fear of man and what it looks like to actually let go. Nothing is wasted.

we're going to see is that every scheme, every seal, every soldier posted at the tomb was no match for the purposes of God.

Nothing the enemy does can derail what God has already ordained. And that is just as true for your

life today as it was at the tomb. So let's get into it. I'm going to read those verses. We're in the ESV version,

I will rise. Therefore, order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples

go and steal him away and tell the people he has risen from the dead and the last fraud will be worse

from from the first than the first pilot said to them you have a guard of soldiers go make it as

1:22.7

secure as you can so they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.

1:29.3

Nothing is wasted because God doesn't make any accidents. And when we look at our story today,

1:36.3

we're going to see that God doesn't waste even the hatred of his enemies. He uses it

1:41.8

through his sovereign and purposeful plan for his glory. Even evil

1:46.3

serves God's purposes. Example of this is Genesis chapter 50 verse 20 before we get into our text.

1:52.9

It's the story of Joseph. You'll remember when Joseph, you know, he gets this coat of many colors.

1:57.7

He gets these visions. He tells his family about it. His family

2:00.8

doesn't respond very well. And so his brothers actually sell him into slavery and they almost

2:05.7

kill him. But one of the brothers is like, no, don't kill him. He's our brother. And they sent him

2:10.5

into slavery. And then through a series of events, God actually uses that selling into slavery and then

2:16.0

later imprisonment to turn into Joseph being the second

2:19.2

most powerful person in all of Egypt and effectively the world, which allows him to have a key
