1968, the Beatles released Hey Jude, their 18th UK single and the first to appear with the Apple label at its core.

The single was a massive success, spending nine weeks at number one in the US and running it along seven minutes and

11 seconds. But shut up, it's bloody hey Jude by the bloody Beatles. We need to look at this song,

Stephen, and this is essentially episode one, The Road to Hey Jude, which is paved with good

intentions, we might say. I see what you did there. See what I did there?

Because once we started pulling this thread,

there's a lot of threads that go into it.

And first of all, we probably need to say from the outset that there's an origin myth, like all superheroes,

about this story.

Paul wrote it because John was divorced from Cynthia.

He wrote for Julian,

and then John thought it was about him because of all the mention of shoulders.
