Episode 20 - The Beatles at Christmas: Part One
Christmas is often a time for looking back. Steven and Jason examine the fortunes of the Fab Four at every Christmas in the sixties starting in 1960, when they almost stop being The Beatles, through to 1964 when they have become the biggest global music phenomenon in history. 1:17.4 | and they're in Hamburg from 17th of August till the end of November 1960. And so when we get to December 1960, we're in the post-flush of their first round at Hamburg. And yet, and Lewison describes |
1:24.4 | this very well in his book, there's kind of almost an air of despondency. Like they think that that was the pinnacle, that that's it, that it's over. |
