Summary

In December 1966, faced with the prospect of no new Beatles record for Christmas, EMI put out A Collection Of Beatles Oldies, the first Beatles compilation. For many Beatles fans, a compilation was our introduction to the band, but by themselves, these albums tell a story about record contracts, format wars, branding, as well as the enduring popularity of The Beatles. Live on tape from Dublin, it’s Nothing Is Real.
