I am very happy to announce or note that the continuing resolution, this gargantuan omnibus

bill, this big spending boondoggle from now through March of 2025

has come crashing down.

It is off the table, it is not going to be voted on.

I saw this morning Steve Scalise saying, basically,

we're back to the drawing board. And it is worth reflecting on what a remarkable development

this is. For all of my adult lifetime, I have seen these omnibus bills.

I've seen the kind of a depressing formula that I want to describe.

It's a formula that involves Republican leadership and complicit Republicans,

basically saying, first of all, the timing of these things.

They almost always come around Christmas time, when everybody's trying to get out of there.

And so they're deposited on the congressmen and senators at the last, last minute.

There's no time to debate it, but it's like you have to vote for it.
