Good morning everyone and welcome back to another morning with the Masters where we devote

0:15.0

ourselves to Lord daily with you. Good morning you guys. It is a good morning. It is a

0:20.0

good Friday. We're picking up with a new devotional called Living Hope. A countdown to Easter

0:27.0

which is in the Bible. There's a link to that in the description of this podcast if you guys want

0:30.8

to follow along with us. And as always, I'm going to read the scripture and then Tori's going to

0:34.6

pick up with the Devo. Let's do it. The scripture is first Peter chapter 2 verses 23 and 24. And it says

0:41.8

this, he did not retaliate when he was insulted nor threatened revenge when he suffered. He left

0:49.7

his case in the hands of God who always judges fairly. He personally carried our sins in his

0:57.8

in his wrists and ankles. As the day draws to an end, he musters what little strength he has left

1:27.8

to pull himself up again so that he can cry out. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? If we're

1:36.2

being honest with ourselves, we've all probably had moments where we've asked God, where are you in

1:43.0

this? Why have you forsaken me? How should we respond when we find ourselves in situations where we

1:50.5

feel alone, anxious, and forsaken? The words Jesus spoke on the cross were actually taken from Psalm

1:58.2

22, a prophetic lament written by King David. In many ways, this Psalm is about Jesus, but it also

2:06.3

provides us with three action steps we can follow when we feel alone. 1. Be honest with God about

2:15.0

how you're feeling. Relationships start with being real, so if you're feeling forsaken by God,

2:22.6

tell him that. Ask God your questions and prepare your heart to hear his answers. 2. Give God

2:31.1

glory anyway. Our feelings don't change the fact that God is worthy of being worshipped. In fact,

2:39.3

it's often through worship that we discover the cure for our worry. When we focus on who God is,
