didn't want something, that they would just ban it instead of ending a tax exemption, but that's what

they have done. They have ended a tax exemption on contraceptives, including condoms and birth control pills,

as part of its broader effort to reverse a sustained decline in population growth.

So it began already this year.

Controceptives are now subject to a 13% value-added tax,

while services related to child care, marriage, and elder care are exempt.

I mean, they're concerned, right?

I mean, India overtook them as the world's most populous country a couple of years ago.

And they've now recorded three consecutive years of population decline.

So they want people taking care of business and having babies.

Don't just take care of business and not have babies.

And if you're China, you absolutely want that.

Here in America, I would say go ahead. Use those

condoms in birth control. Fine with me. But we need to have kids here in this country as well.

And some inner populations in this country are having children while others are not.

But most importantly, it just felt weird to me that China just didn't ban birth control and condoms.

I mean, that would open up a whole new black market world for condoms and birth controls in China.

But they didn't do that.

They just ended a tax exemption.

And that doesn't seem like China to me, but it is.
