Four consumers claim McDonald's has falsely advertised their McRib sandwich as containing real pork rib meat with its name and distinctive shape.

Before we go on, I want to just say that I don't think I once thought that this was a tremendous pork sandwich, but I digress.

The suit claims the fan favorite sandwich is made with a hybrid of meat parts, including heart, tripe, and stomach.

Oh, okay.

So this is a federal case filed in Illinois alleges that the McRib contains the lower grade of pork products.

The suit alleges that using rib in the name allows the restaurant to change a premium price

as much as $7.99 per McRib locator for a non-premium product, creating millions of dollars

in consumer harm.

McDonald said, no, this lawsuit distorts the facts.

And in fact, there are no hearts, tripe, or scalded stomach in the McRib.

Well, that's good news, I think, if it's true.

So good luck to these four people who are suing McDonald's,

and they believe they're doing the right thing on our behalf

because the McRib, I mean, they're just fooling people.

They're just fooling people.

I mean, it's just deception.

Right?

Right.

The filing notes that pork rib meat, including baby back and spare ribs, is considered a premium product citing the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Daily Pork Report, showing rib meat is significantly more expensive than other pork cuts.
