Hi, Dr. Laura, thank you for taking my call.

I'm 62 years old, and I got divorced in 2019 from a very controlling husband and I stayed with him longer because of our kids.

And now... longer because of our kids.

And now, we had two kids together.

And he was very controlling of everything that had to be done at the house and over the kids. Like, I wasn't allowed to watch certain TV programs. I wasn't allowed to read certain

I had to dress a certain way

I couldn't wear certain jewelry

you know he would call me ten times a day he'd tell me what the boys needed where to school

You know just everything and I stayed with him until the boys were one got out of the house and the other one I was getting ready to go in the military.

And so once that came, that was it, I was done. So I got a divorce and

I got a divorce and my 25 year old son hasn't talked to me since like 2020 because I got remarried and I got married to a black guy and he you know he's like, you know, he's like, mom, he says you had to marry a black person.

And, uh, but I have tried, you know, all kinds of ways to get him to talk to me or if he swem-har, he told you why he's not talking.

He doesn't like that you married a black man. That's it. He got well trained by your husband.
