Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast so Pennsylvania Nevada, Georgia.

These three say suck up a lot of oxygen when it comes to 2022 midterms.

Obviously that was the focus of my last podcast episode because I do believe the party that

wins two of those three will control the Senate.

But there's one more state on this list that deserves its own special attention.

Ohio, not Florida, North Carolina.

The Senate race there between Republican Congressman Ted Bud, former state Supreme Court

Justice, Sherry Beasley.

She's the Democrat as one of the under the radar races that could end up being surprisingly

decisive when you actually look at what's going on there versus some of the other Senate

races.

And yes, I know what you're thinking.

North Carolina looks like it's a lean red state by many measures, but the race between

Bud and Beasley has been weirdly quiet.

In many ways it's a generic R versus generic D perhaps for voters.

But we'll see.

Pulse only have had the Republican ahead by a pointer to so we know North Carolina is a swing

state that leans Republicans is probably the best way to put it.

So my guest today is Pat McClory.

He's the former governor of North Carolina for that he was mayor of Charlotte and there

was a time where he'd be not taking my call right now because he'd be in the general election

and he wouldn't want to be talking to any member of the media.
