Look, you don't need to to tell you who Nora Jones is.

She makes brilliant music.

She, what is the old saying?

The unexamined life isn't worth living.

My impression is that she lives a very examined life.

She's a thoughtful person.

It was great getting to speak with her.

We'd met before over the years.

We appeared together on the 30 Rock episode Kidney Now years ago,

which we briefly discuss at the end of this conversation. We've shared guitar techs, Kelly McCauley, the great guitar tech who lives in Colorado now, but she's a

Long Island girl. Kelly worked for Nora for years and worked for the old 97s and me for

years as well. She's great, a great person to have on a tour bus and on stage

with you, Kelly McCauley. But Nora Jones is, she's just really cool, you know. There's not

much I can say. I think you're going to get a lot out of this conversation. I know I did. I'm

really grateful that she stepped away from her kids and her mom and her dog and her quiet little house to come talk to me for Wheels Off.
