| 0:38.5 | Plus, I'm now have my second glass of wine so things are flowing smoothly. |
| 0:44.5 | So the next question is going to be here from Jeff Jenkins and he's got a pretty cool comment here because I've actually dealt with this in the past. |
| 0:54.5 | He says that he can shoot an exit 20 yards. Explain what the magical process is that one needs to go through to shoot an exit 20 yards. |
| 1:05.5 | 30 times in a row and repeat that performance three days in a row. |
| 1:10.5 | So yes, that is the magical question and I can tell you that if I had an easy guarantee for that, that would definitely be something I would charge for because then I'm sure everybody would pay for it and we would all be shooting 900s every Vegas and archery to get pretty boring. |
| 1:33.5 | But when it comes to being able to do that, when I work with students I talk with them about several things but one of them is learning how to shoot a tent and everybody has a slightly different way to do that. |
| 1:50.5 | But when it comes to shooting a tent, you have to be able to learn how to then repeat it which is ultimately when good coaching comes in because learning to repeat a performance is a good way to do it. |
| 2:02.5 | So the performance is obviously what accelerates you to the top of the pile so to speak. |
| 2:09.5 | So I've always just really focused on one arrow at a time because the reality is you can't control what hasn't happened and you can't control what did happen because obviously it already did a history but you can control what is happening. |
| 2:31.5 | And you really have to just focus on trying to increase the amount of good shots that you have in your quiver one arrow at a time. |
| 2:43.5 | And everyone is going to probably do that slightly different but for the most part when it comes to coaching, learning to set people up in a position and in a foundation that allows them to be the most consistent, the most times in a row |
| 3:00.5 | is really what coaching and learning good form is all about. |
| 3:06.5 | There's always going to be exceptions to the rule and I've been beaten by the exceptions to the rules more times than not but I can also tell you that for myself as well as many other high level archers out there building yourself in a foundation in a shooting form. |
| 3:29.5 | That is repeatable and consistent and can be kept in check easily is going to increase your odds for doing that. |
| 3:40.5 | So that really comes down to being able to keep your posture and your bone alignment correct and that's for me I'm a big believer in proper posture having a proper T formation. |
| 3:53.5 | Having your feet under your hips, your hips under your shoulders, your shoulders, elbow, front wrist, all in alignment. |
| 4:02.5 | The more that you change that, the more that you start reliant on muscle. |
