your host, Diana. And I'm Rose. And today we're having a lovely piece of fluff. We're discussing

the new hot show that's been a hit for Netflix called Nobody Wants This. Why are we looking at

this show in particular, Diana? Well, because right now,

it's in the top 10 at Netflix, so everyone is watching it right now. But I think that, you know,

sometimes it's really good to do these media episodes. It's a low-stakes way to check our vetting.

So, you know, when you're not actively dating, it's like, okay, can I may not be able to spot the red flags in my own life, but am I able to spot the red flags in someone else's life?

Can I see why I shouldn't be swayed by media?

Can I see why this is definitely propaganda that I shouldn't fall for?

Like, am I, you know, falling prey to things that are being dressed up really well

that aren't actually good for me? And so when I watch the show, I was like, you know, I never

watch romantic comedies. Let me just start there. Like, I have a, like, a loyalty to the rom-coms

of the 2000s. And, like, I really enjoy them, but I have to say in the last few years or so,

like, I don't watch things that are outright rom-coms. Like, if they have a romantic element

to them, but they're about something else, I'm cool with it. But if it's like a straight-up rom-com,

I'm just like, no, this is written by some scrote. Or it's written by a woman who is definitely daydreaming, the Jane Austen of our times. No, thank you.

Well, and this is something we talked about just before we started recording, which is what I

refer to as the curse of FDS. And as I've come along in this journey of feminist glorying,

what I've really realized is like there's no media I can consume that I don't end up immediately

criticizing. And I've had to learn to be gentle with myself. Like, it's okay, Rose, that you are

watching this through a critical lens. Because as much as we want to enjoy these things, and I did.
