My name is Dan Schreiber and I am sitting here with Andrew Hunter Murray, Anichesinski

and James Harkin and once again we have gathered around the microphones with our four favourite

facts from the last seven days and in no particular order, here we go starting with you,

James.

Okay my fat this week is when a very large star quietly turns into a black hole without

the usual explosion, the official term used by astronomers is a massive fail.

As if it wasn't embarrassed enough, how was it able to make the explosion?

Well it turns out that about 30% of massive stars turn into massive fails and they found

this out quite recently, they were looking at an area of the universe called the Firework

Galaxy and where there's loads of supernovas, so when it explodes, when you've got a big

star and it explodes it's called a supernova and eventually that turns into a black hole

but sometimes it's happening without the supernova and this area called the Firework Galaxy

had loads of supernovas but the work quite as many as they thought there should be and

they couldn't work out why and then they were looking at a star called N6946 hyphen BH1.

My uncle's called that, so that's a nozzly name.

Is it a prisoner number isn't it?
