Hello, hello everyone. Welcome back to the Epic Gardening podcast. We are back with Matthew

0:18.0

Reese Warren, a gardener and an author of the ecological gardener, which you can pick up

0:22.6

in the podcast description. So, you know, Matt yesterday we talked about a sack garden,

0:29.0

it's repurposing something that you could find locally. Today we are talking now about how

0:34.7

to just reduce the amount of plastic products that come into the garden in the first place

0:38.8

I suppose. And if not, hopefully, you know, repurposing and reuse some of those. So I'm

0:44.0

curious in your own garden, do you even have anything that contains plastic in it at

0:49.6

this point?

0:50.6

Yeah, I mean, I think it's impossible to not have it. Because if you're going to buy

0:57.2

some plants, they're going to be in plastic. So it's not your fault. And then if, you know,

1:03.2

it is becoming, you know, it's changing. There are certain suppliers who take the plastic

1:09.8

pots back. But if they don't, you feel obliged to just, well, okay, I'll keep using them.

1:16.5

So I find like, we just get swallowed in it then. We just as gardeners, we are just swallowed

1:22.0

in it because it's not that it's like one element. But then there's plastic for everything

1:27.0

because it's the most adaptable, durable weather resistant material that you can get.

1:32.8

And it's the cheapest. So it becomes like overbearing, you know, instead of, you know, it's

1:39.2

plastic plant labels, it's plastic propagators, it's, you know, plastic wheelbarras, plastics,

1:47.2

sort of two hand. It just doesn't, it doesn't stop in garden, I don't think, because there

1:52.8

will always be a price point and we can never sort of, you know, see here and speak about

1:57.8

just buying the most expensive stuff all the time. But yeah, there are, there are ways in

2:02.6

which you can try and stop the waves and just hold back a little bit. And maybe plastic

2:08.8

pots are one of them. So if you imagine that you do try and sort of shut the door a little
