And most importantly, talking about the Biden administration's plans for vaccines and

therapeutics and how it's become a really important example of what Ruth Wilson Gilmar calls

organized abandonment, which is a deliberate, systemic

approach by those in power to withdraw support and resources from certain groups or communities

that's then propped up and justified by the illusion of choice. And today, the day this episode

airs, is exactly one week from the end of the federal public health emergency declaration,

which is May 11th. And unfortunately, this is just the beginning. Longtime listeners of

Death Panel have heard us talk about the transition of COVID to the private market in the U.S.

probably dozens of times over the last three years now. And we've warned over and over that this is

going to further destabilize access to even the

bare minimum tools that we have left.

And we can be sure that the transition will reduce access and uptake of vaccines and

therapeutics, which, let's be honest right now is not something that we're like stellar or

excelling at in the United States.
