Today we are looking at Romans chapter 8 once again and I want to start out by thinking

about things that most of us experienced when we were at least children maybe some of us

Sadly still experience these things today, but that

is nightmares. Do you remember nightmares? I mean sometimes as adults we still have

a bad dream now and then, but I remember as a kid having very specific recurring

nightmares and feeling a sense of dread about going to bed. And I remember waking

and being so afraid I would get up and I would walk through the kitchen and I would go back to my parents bedroom and I typically would go to the side of the bed where my mother was and I would you know gently wake her and tell her I had a

bed dream sometimes she would come with me back to my bed other times she would let me

sleep in her bed with her and my my dad and there was something comforting about that there was something

safe about that the fear was gone at least temporarily for that night and then the next

night again I might feel dread about going to

bed. The reason that I bring that up is because we have all kinds of reasons

very legitimate reasons even more legitimate than a nightmare, to be afraid in this world.
