This is the Chuck Todd cast.

It's been one week since Elon Musk took over as the owner of Twitter.

Earlier this week he dismissed Twitter's Board of Directors, named himself CEO and has

been, or I guess, cheap twin.

And he's been floating all kinds of changes to the surface.

My guest today is Neely Patel.

He's co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Verge.

Last week he wrote a skating story called Welcome to Hell, Elon, which he outlined all

the ways in which owning Twitter creates problems for Musk and his other businesses.

On Wednesday Elon Musk seemed to agree with Neely when he changed his Twitter bio and set

his location as, oh okay, Neely, welcome to the Todd cast.

Look, there's been so much commentary written about this.

There's so many lessons in life about making a rash decision.

I imagine, I guess, when you're super wealthy, you think even if there are consequences,

you can buy your way out of them.

But wow, do we think Elon Musk knows what he did here?

I do because he tried to get out of it really hard.

Yeah, fair enough.

So he made the offer by the company and then the market tanked and Tesla stock went down

and he sued Twitter and tried to get out of this deal.

And I think it became very clear to him and everyone that the court was not going to allow
