And just like that, we're back. But for the first time this year, it is Tuesday morning, January

0:19.2

4th, the year of our Lord, 2022. It is the Late Kick Extra podcast. Ah, feels good to say. We haven't done extras in quite a while. Now, if you've noticed, if you've been listening to Late Kick Live or watching Late Kick Live, I've been supplementing a little bit of it. I've been putting some of your questions in there. I wanted to give the old mainstream audience a taste of what we over here do amongst ourselves on Tuesday morning and Thursday morning.

0:41.6

And for those of you who have no idea what I'm babbling about right now, this is a podcast only feature.

0:47.3

So you see a lot of products come in this podcast feed every week, but some of them say late kick live, if you've noticed.

0:54.0

And some of them say late kick extra. if you've noticed, and some of them say

0:54.8

late kick extra. Late kick live, that is an audio replay of the live show that we do on

1:00.0

YouTube, the 24-7 sports YouTube channel. That's Sunday night, Tuesday night, Thursday night, so you

1:04.7

get it in your pod feed the next morning. But this, right here, what you're about to listen to,

1:09.2

hopefully, fingers crossed, is a podcast only feature. You can't get this anywhere else. And this is all Q&A, question and answer for those of you unfamiliar. And according to virtually everyone, including my family members, this is the best stuff we do all week. So it stands to reason. Maybe we should make bigger production out of this, but I don't know

1:28.0

about that. I don't know about that at all. I've been thinking about that this morning. And it's been in relation not just to this late kick podcast, but also to just college football in general. I'll tell you what I mean in a second. Thank you so much. We have got a ton going on. I mean, a ton going on. I don't kid you when I say the year 2022 kind of snuck up on me.

1:47.3

This is a true story. I'll tell you this story right quick. So the other night, obviously the playoff games happened on New Year's Eve. And so we're down at the Orange Bowl. We were down there all week. Miami was just incredible. We were anywhere from Fort Lauderdale to Miami all week. So we're at the game, and it's been a great week, and you're wrapping it up. And I've got a 6 a.m. flight, New Year's Day. So I know a lot of things are about to have to happen really quick. So the game is going on, and it was what it was. Then we're doing postgame stuff. So I did a lot of work on the field with CBS right after the game.

2:18.6

We do several minutes worth of a live hit for CBS Sports HQ.

2:22.4

Then I told them, I don't want to wait until Sunday night to do late kick live.

2:27.6

And that be the first time that anyone hears my reaction to this game.

2:31.4

And so if you've paid attention on the YouTube channel, what you saw is a video

2:35.5

that looked kind of like one of those late kick cut videos, but it was of me standing on the field.

2:40.4

And so what I did was I just gave a reaction, sent it to director Colin. He chopped it up,

2:45.0

put it on the YouTube channel. And the funny thing about that is, as you know, that game started

2:50.5

at 7.30 on the East Coast.

2:52.6

It gets over about 11, 1115 or whenever.

2:55.8

As I was fulfilling my duties with CBS and then got off, it's probably about 1150.
