People in Nigeria have been voting in the country's most closely contested presidential and parliamentary elections in recent history.

The candidates of the two parties that have long dominated the political scene,

Bola, Tinoobu and Atiku, Abu Bakar are facing a challenge from Peter Orby, a former governor,

who's used social media to capture the support of young people.

On Saturday, some polling stations opened late, some stayed closed.

These voters in the city of Lagos, though, said they were confident that the election would be free and fair.

We are here to decide our next president for the next four years.

So, whatever we decide right now will affect us positively or negatively in the next four years.

So, I just hope we all do the right thing and vote wisely.

The general election is going to be a free and fair one.

The efforts and the cards have been put in place. With the way they are doing things, they probably are sent to the South of the Sun.

They are being given to people. I think the election is going to be free and fair.
