Hello there. Welcome to Out to Lunch, where we take big names for a Slap up meal and chew

the fat, as well as the protein fiber and any other food groups. My guest today is a Malaysian

born stand-up comedian now based in the UK. In the summer of 2020, he went viral with

his character Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian man responding virulently to a Traverse

Steve and Egg Fried Rice cooking video. The videos that have followed have helped him

amass views on his YouTube channel measured in the hundreds of millions. His stand-up show

was nominated for the best newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019, and

he made his TV debut in 2018 on Comedy Central and has appeared on various panel shows including

mock the week. Today we talk about the highs and lows of internet fame, working with Gordon
