Hello and welcome to the Safy Ridge on Sunday podcast. After the Prime Minister pulled the big vote

on her Brexit deal and headed back to Brussels in search of further concessions, we spoke to the

SMP leader and

First Minister of Scotland, Nicholas Sturgeon. Plus, the Education Secretary, Damien Hines,

Well, last week we were all talking about the meaningful vote on Theresa May's Brexit deal

that was scheduled for Tuesday evening. It was set to be the culmination of two years of negotiations

and a key staging post in Britain's departure from the EU. But on Monday, less than 24 hours

after we've been sitting here debating what was going to happen once the vote was done,

the Prime Minister stood up in Parliament and said that because she was about to lose, she was pulling it.

Instead, she said she would return to Brussels to seek further concessions and reassurances from the EU,

specifically on the controversial Irish backstop.
