Hello, President Biden has made a surprise visit

to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

I mean, that still sounds quite strange saying that

because the idea of a US president in an active war zone,

but that's what it is.

And intriguingly, the White House said

that they'd let the Russians know in advance,

so there is some kind of hotline between them,

which is quite intriguing.

Lots of symbolism, for example,

the moment where President Biden and Zelensky

left St. Michael's Cathedral,

and right at that second, the air raid sirens went off.

After that, they went and laid some flowers

at the Wall of Remembrance, a regular stopoff

for foreign visitors.

Then there was a joint news conference

with President Zelensky, where President Biden

talked about Vladimir Putin.

Putin thought Ukraine was weak, and the West was divided.
