Welcome to another episode of Lurie Breaks It Down, a podcast where we dig deeply to connect the dots on the issues that shape our world.

I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much.

All right, good people. So today is Tuesday, November the 18th. I cannot believe there's like only, what is it, five weekends left until like Christmas slash Kwanza season kicks off. Like, I could not believe it when I saw some of the memes floating around doing the countdown. Only four weeks, only five weeks. Like we're barreling through 20, 25. And it feels like it's been 85 years. So there's that. But let's get

1:11.7

into today's because apparently Nikki Minaj is going to be appearing at the UN today. And we are

1:16.7

learning that WEI lawyering doesn't really work. Let's dive into the stories. We also got some updates

1:22.5

on the Epstein file situation because why not it's a day ending and why? And apparently that's what

1:26.7

we do here in America. But also want to conclude by just reminding people as to the mistakes that people have made in the past we should learn from those mistakes and and that one is specifically for miss menage but we'll get to that a little bit later on in the episode first things first it's really bad when you are considered a w eE-I lawyer. And for those of you who are new to

1:44.4

this podcast, new to me, you should know that I coined the phrase W-E-I, which is an acronym that

1:49.6

stands for white, entitled, and incompetent. And I coined this phrase in the aftermath of the

1:54.0

2024 election because it was clear to me that we were using phrases like DEI inaccurately.

2:00.0

Now, as you may recall, after the election in 2024, white nationalists who took over the government

2:05.3

began doing everything that they could to essentially get rid of all of the overly qualified

2:10.0

black people and other people who were a part of the administration, who had been a part

2:15.1

of previous administrations, who were a part of government. And the reason reason this was important because when people were saying, oh, they got rid of the overly qualified black general who had been in charge of multiple wars and had been in charge of running the military everywhere and replaced him with,

2:28.3

Pete, his own mama said he's trash, heggseth. That was not an example of diversity equity and inclusion.

2:33.3

Diversity equity and inclusion is a policy that was implemented as a way to work around

2:38.9

white people's commitment to racism.

2:41.2

For centuries, white Americans had largely participated in an effort that basically said,

2:45.5

if you were not white, you could not be considered, you could not be evaluated, you didn't

2:48.7

have a shot.

2:49.8

And so diversity, equity and

2:50.9

inclusion programs, affirmative action programs, were basically hacks around white people's racism.
