Hamendra. So hello, Hamendra if you're listening. They ask, which system or method is best to use for a commercial purpose, and they're referring

to hydroponics. If it's NFT, nutrient film technique, is it required to connect the air pump to the

reservoir or can the lid be opened 24-7? There's a bunch of different questions

that are going along with that. So I'm going to see what I can do to kind of talk about this for you,

Hemendra, and anyone else who's interested in commercial hydroponics. Now, of course, with many things in life,

the answer is going to be, it depends.

In fact, I was just up in North County in San Diego here

and I looked at a hydroponic farm,

really successful small-scale hydroponic commercial farm and they were using two different methods.

For cucumbers and tomatoes they were using the nutrient film technique and for greens and herbs they were using a floating raft sort of a

deep water culture flow-through style system. So that tells you right off the bat

that it really does depend both on the crop what you have

more experience with what you're more knowledgeable about what the market economics

of your area would dictate that makes the most sense for you, maybe even the space that you have.

So some people aren't able to put in a giant pool and grow in these tanks like a deep water

culture system.

At least something not something that big, right?

Sometimes you might have to go ahead and do the NFT system,

which is not going to require so, so, so much infrastructure

because you're not really digging into the ground and

building a pool and doing all sorts of stuff like that. You can build an
