I'm I'm Welcome back to nothing personal. It's David Sampson on a Tuesday, and I couldn't be happier.

It's draft week.

I think we all know that.

And I couldn't be happy to have Jeff Schwartz with me.

He, eight-year NFL veteran.

You may know him from the teams he played on.

You may know him because of his proclivity for amazing Jewish food, or you may know him

as a sports media personality for Fox Sports, but we're going to know him as a draft expert. Jeff,

how are you? Glad to be here. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. It's a fun week. You know,

all these weeks and weeks and months of sort of draft discussion and all happens on Thursday.

You know, I'm a baseball guy.

And so for me, I love the draft, but it never, as a team president, it never felt like, all right, this guy can help me because it may be three years.

It may be five years.

It may be never.

But in the NFL, teams fortunes go up and down in the draft. Well, they do. I love baseball group of a baseball fan. My giants are on my team. I feel the same way when the MLB draft comes up. I'm like, well, we'll see him in seven years if things work out well, you know, maybe three, you know, maybe your schemes. You come up and, you know, end of year one, right, or whatnot. But for the most part, it does feel that way. The NFL, you know, because quarterback is the most important position in all football, right? If you, maybe all sports, you have a quarterback, you can go from a four-win team, two and 11-win immediately, right? You get two first-round picks, the Giants, the Browns, you know, the chiefs. You had two impact players immediately. That's a big part of your success. So that can happen very quickly. I felt to me, the NFL sells hope, better than any other sport for this reason, right? Teams go from worse to first.

You can go from four wins and nine wins and make a wildcard spot.

So the draft to me is hope, right?

A lot of fan bases entering Thursday night and Friday and Saturday thinking about what they can be if they hit the draft correctly.

Well, you just dropped in there a line about the Giants having two first round picks,

and that is a pretty new occurrence after the trade that just took place for Dexter Lawrence.

You know, he said something interesting after the trade.

He signed a one-year extension for over $20, $25 million.
