The Cockshore.

That's the nothing personal word of the day. It is Tuesday, April 21st,

2006. Coxshore is a word meant to say, man, we've got this in the bag. We're cocky.

We are cocky with reason.

We are cocky because we are guaranteed a certain outcome.

And then you play the game as a fan of the New York Knicks, you sit in Madison Square Garden.

You've won game one of a first round series that is going to be a memory because you have your eyes set on your first title in 53 years.

You have pushed the boulder up the hill year after year after year and every single time since 1973,

that boulder falls back down on your head and crushes the very village in which you live.

But yet you push it up again. Opening night of of every NBA season of every sports season of your

favorite team is the first push of that boulder you make it to the playoffs and you're feeling

good you are completely ready for the ride but it's not just the ride that gives you the pleasure.

You are cocky enough to believe that there are little bumps on the way to the true pleasure,

which comes in the second round against the Celtics or the conference finals and then finally

the NBA finals.

Then you get to game one against the Hawks, a gnat that you are ready to just push away.

You feign excitement, you go to the game.

Though if you have the budget to go to one game every single May and June and that's it,

you wouldn't choose the Hawks because it's not even going to be

competitive. You go through game one, you head into game two, even more positive. You don't

bring the broom, but you certainly have it at your door ready to be brought. Game two proceeds exactly as game one.

You've got a comfortable lead.
