Welcome to another edition of NFC West mixtape where me and the guy next to me like to talk about the best division in football every single week.

That's Rob Guerrere, the Gold Standard Network. He covers the 49ers. I'm Dan Vienz of Seahawks Forever. You can probably figure out which team I cover on a regular basis. Rob, how's the offseason treating you? This is a little bit, we're kind of in a holding pattern. It feels like with the draft now three weeks away. It is, but also like Kirk Cousins just signed with the Raiders today. So there are still

things happening. You know, I liked hearing a lot of the stuff coming out of the league meetings.

There were some juicy little nuggets there that I know we're going to get into. So things are good.

Let's start there. And then what we're going to do today is you and I both went through position

group by position group through the division and chose who we think

has the best group. And I think it's a pretty interesting outcome that we're certainly going to

have a lot to talk about. But let's get back to some of that stuff that came out during the

owners meetings. And let's start where you just touched on. I mean, that story, it involves the Raiders,

but it doesn't not impact the NFC West because up until that point, one of the things that Sean McVeigh talked about and acknowledged during the owners meetings that they had contact with Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo, still a free agent, still out there. Now Cousins goes to the Raiders, which I think was a great move for them. I really like the offseason they're having and how they're setting up this rebuild.

But the Rams as we sit here today, and this will come into play in our rankings later,

really have a question of backup quarterback.

Not a great place to be when you're starting quarterback is approaching 40 and has had injury issues.

I was surprised to hear Sean McVeigh literally, you know,

stumping for Kirk Cousins at the league meetings because everything that we had heard

was how much they loved Jimmy Garapolo and, you know, they want to bring him back

and how Sean McVeys really helped him get his groove back and all that stuff.

And it's just kind of like, yeah, we got Stafford and we're just going to see who sort of falls to us.

But the fact that they were advocating for Kirk Cousins, like Sean McVeigh is not doing that just to do it.

He's doing it because he likes the idea of having a guy with a ton of starting experience who he knows can thrive

in the system. He wants that guy in his building just as a security blanket in case anything

happens with Matthew Stafford. So I am interested to see what the Rams ultimately do there.
