California is taking a legal swing at President Trump's trade policies.

Terran Luna reports Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a lawsuit challenging Trump's power to impose tariffs without Congress.

The legal action argues that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which Trump cited to justify the tariffs,

does not grant the president the power to unilaterally impose tariffs on goods imported to the United States.

Newsom says California could lose billions if these policies continue.

This is the first time any state has sued over these tariffs.

And it's the first time that Newsom himself has taken the lead in a lawsuit against Trump.

The lawsuit could force a big shift in how trade decisions are made and put new political

pressure on Republicans in Washington.

A man who had been living on the streets for years in San Luis Obispo just hit the jackpot.

Grace Toohey reports that he won a million-dollar scratcher from the California lottery.

Wilson Saman, the manager of Sandy's liquor, says the winner doesn't want to speak publicly,

but is over the moon about his luck.

Saman describes him as a long-time trustworthy customer who truly deserves the win.

The man plans to use his new fortune to buy a car and a house and maybe even start a business.

As a reward for selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a $5,000 bonus.
