Hey guys, I just got the phone with our military in Europe with an update on these four missing American soldiers.

And I just wanted to jump on real quick and provide that update to you because this is a really important story to watch.

And let's sort of zoom way out and talk about why. These soldiers are part of our NATO operations in Europe.

What is NATO? It is the largest military

alliance in the world. And one of the reasons NATO came together is because we were looking

at ways after World War II to prevent another world war. But also NATO isn't just an alliance.

We're also part of NATO as a deterrence. And where these soldiers

were operating is really important. So let me just show you a map. This is Lithuania. So you see

Lithuania there with kind of in the middle of the screen for you. And it's surrounded by

Russia, Poland, and Belarus. And one of the reasons why this story caught my attention right away is I was

concerned. I was concerned because the early headlines talked about four missing soldiers

very close to the border with Belarus. And why would that be important? Well, Belarus is

essentially an adversary of the United States, closely aligned with Russia, if there was some sort

of scenario, and this is what happens when you see headlines sort of break and you're trying to

piece together the story, if we saw some sort of scenario where these soldiers in training

wandered into territory that belonged to Belarus, could we be on the verge of like an international

incident? Turns out from what we know right now that isn't the case, but this is why this part of the world is critically important.

We're not only part of this broad military alliance, we also have massive assets around Europe as deterrents.

So let's say that there's some sort of conflict that kicks off. Well,

we already have military assets there. We don't have to move them. And so this is why we're

doing constant trainings with NATO. So the U.S. troops are going to be in Lithuania. They're going

to train Lithuanian forces and we're going to practice together and this is all again part
