I don't think it's going to be an incredibly long podcast, but I am going to talk about some issues that you likely won't hear anywhere else. And I think they are important issues. And if you're a Christian, especially if you're a Christian who's concerned about the direction of the evangelical church in our country, then you're going to want to pay attention to this. We're going to talk about Southern Baptist related issues and also PCA related issues. So let's start off with Southern Baptist stuff. I want to talk about a, and as I say this, I'm thinking in my head, this is tangentially |

| 0:43.2 | So this is Southern Baptist because it is concerning McLean Bible Church, which, as far as I know, |

| 1:03.0 | I don't know exactly where they're at, but David Platt, who of course is a big name in the |
| 1:06.6 | Southern Baptist Convention, is still a pastor there. |
| 1:09.1 | And there was a whole documentary that I produced |
| 1:12.6 | on this particular issue. The Church Reform Initiative published it. And the issue was, in part, |
| 1:19.9 | this affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention against the Constitution of the Church |
| 1:24.1 | and how members handled this. Well, one of the issues was the fact that there |
| 1:30.8 | were members of McLean Bible Church, a very prominent church in Washington, D.C., which many |
| 1:36.3 | important politicians and so forth attend, many of those members were upset at the direction |
| 1:42.7 | that David Platt was taking the church when he assumed |
| 1:45.6 | the reins from Lon Solomon. |
| 1:47.5 | And one of those things was this affiliation. |
| 1:50.3 | And so in response to these concerns and the really oversight, supervision, opposition |
| 1:59.1 | that the church would receive from some of these members, some of them founding members of the church. |
| 2:05.6 | Presumably, if you watch the documentary, you'll see what I'm talking about. |
| 2:09.3 | The membership status of many of these members was eliminated. |
| 2:13.7 | It was stripped. |
