You know, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I got a bit choked up watching today's film

because it just made me really sentimental for the early days of my podcast when I used to throw

my gear in the wagon and go town to town and interview screenwriters and watch people

kindly throw a few bits into my tin can. And God, I miss those days. Howdy, I'm Jeff Goldsmith, and this is the Q&A.

Folks, things have come a long way since those first days of podcasting with me out on the

range.

So, you know, I'm just glad that the technology keeps improving.

But look, I'm really excited for you to hear

today's episode because we have co-writer and director paul greengrass with me for the q and a and uh you

know paul was just nominated with luke davies for uh the screenplay that they wrote for news of the world

which has received a wGA nomination rightly rightly so, because it's just a,

it's a great script. And look, it was great to interview Paul. This is the, this is the time in

the pandemic where things work out a little because here we were, you know, he was in England.

I was here in L.A. and we had a really good chat. And it was, it was cool to get into the

nitty gritty about writing news of the world, adapting it from the book, because they did a great

adaptation. And look, you know, the only thing I feel guilty about is Paul is such a fantastic

director as well that I did not, I was not able to ask as many directed questions as I would

have liked. But, but. But maybe next time.

But look, Paul was very forthcoming about his creative process and had a lot of great things

to say about news of the world.
