Summary

On this episode we review the up-to-date International Break news, including injury scares, minutes played, distance traveled, and of course goal-scoring form. What do the international football results tell us about GW13? And what's the best way to set up our fantasy squads for what looks like a tricky slate of fixtures? A key decision will be the captaincy with the two standard picks Haaland and Salah facing off in the gameweek's first kickoff, it could be a good moment to be different and give the armband to Son—or even Solanke. Do we have the guts? Plus we discuss cheap defender options, Chelsea's epic upcoming run, and a "Clásico of sorts." Hail Cheaters!

Hey, L cheaters. Welcome to the OSG podcast. My name is Josh. I'm here with Brandon. Brandon, how are you?

0:22.2

Josh, I feel like crap. I just want my FPL back. That's all I want. I'm sitting around this weekend, keeping up with France Gibraltar 14-0. I'd much preferred if it was Aston Villa Brighton 14-0.

0:39.6

So how badly are you ready for this game week to kick off?

0:43.1

You know, I'm pretty badly.

0:44.8

I think that it's the afterglow of the trip has, I'm still feeling it.

0:50.3

It was like I went back to work and the things that usually bother me weren't bothering me.

0:54.4

It's why you go on vacation, right? It's like you need to, you get away and everything, you come

0:58.7

back and you're sort of, you kind of miss certain things. But it's also like the things that

1:02.6

we're starting to like, you know, be like nails on a chalkboard, they're just, it's a little

1:06.4

softer. You know, they don't, they don't bother you quite as much anymore. And so I'm feeling good about my life. What I'm not feeling good about is this third international break. It's always one too many, right? Really, I mean, ideally, I would have zero, but I understand these. We need the international matches. We need the players to have breaks because, you know, the Premier League is basically like a year-long league, right? So I'm fine with that. But the third one is always the toughest. So we're back to. But it's a prelude to a whole festival of fixtures that are coming. Carnival, a carnival of Premier League that kicks off. You have badges on Saturday. And then you've got Champions League a couple days after that. And then you've got more matches the following Saturday. And then you've got your first round of Premier League midweek fixtures in the first week of December. So you've got three game weeks coming up in like 17, 18 days, whatever that is. I think they're stretched out from like Tuesday to Thursday. That's game week 15. So a lot of stuff coming up. And then, of course, you have all of the festive fixtures as well.

2:02.5

So I think this is a nice chance for a full reset.

2:07.1

What we want to do in this pod is look ahead to Game Week 13 and a little beyond that.

2:11.9

Talk about some of the international injuries, the international break injuries that are happening right now.

2:15.9

And just sort of general Premier League injuries, there's a ton of players that are sort of flagged as maybe injured, maybe a little bit, walked through those a little bit. I think the upside here is that most of them should be fine. And so I don't think this is going to be like 40 minutes of content, but I think it'll be useful just to sort of walk people through where we are where certain players.

2:34.3

There are a couple things that I didn't know that were sort of useful. Did you know, by the way, that Odegaard, one of the reasons he was out is because he got kicked in the face of the ball and he was in the concussion protocol? I didn't know that. I didn't know that. Yeah. Yeah. He was a- I feel like they're hiding something about Odegaard.

2:32.9

This is getting fishy.

2:34.9

They're hiding to get kicked in the face of the ball. And apparently that was, there was a risk of serious head injury. And so he wasn't able to play for a few days. This is what I saw. I don't know. Okay. Maybe he's like severely disfigured. They're like hiding him away to protect him while he gets like

3:08.5

reconstructive surgery. I hope that's right. I mean, this is, I did, you know, because this is a pod that I have to, I try to pretend like I know what I'm talking about as much as possible. I did read that earlier today. So now I'm like a Scorsese character. I see things. I hear things. I don't know. I don't know. I saw things.

3:05.0

But anyway, so we're going to do that.

3:07.4

We're also going to look ahead to game in week 13.

3:09.2

Talk a little bit. Sasey character. I see things. I hear things. I don't know. I don't know. I saw things. But anyway, so we're going to do that. We're also going to look ahead to game week 13,

3:28.0

talk a little bit about our own squads. We're actually going to do that right near the top of the
