Summary

We react to the news that Adrian Newey will become Aston Martin team principal in 2026 in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Jon Noble joins Edd Straw to explain the reasons for what are described as strategic changes, and what to expect from Newey as team principal.

We also explain Andy Cowell’s changing role and how it could be good news for new engine supplier Honda, and what led to him, by mutual agreement, accepting a move out of his current position.

Aston Martin’s recent struggles, and the revolving door technical leadership, are also tackled as we ask whether these latest changes will help or hinder the team’s grand ambitions.
