And after really another, really eventful international break for Newcastle United. Spurs were the first

visitors to St. James's Park since that infamous takeover was completed. Charlie, luckily for us,

you were there. So, I mean, I'd love to hear your views of what you saw, felt and experienced

before and during the game around St. James's Park,

that beautiful and famous old stadium. But these are strange days indeed.

Yeah, I have to say, like, I did find the whole thing quite saddening and dispiriting without getting,

I know we've done this and people, probably the last thing people need to hear is another

journalist talking about how the Newcastle takeover has upset them. But I was surprised,

like for me, the thing that really got me was, it's just exactly as you thought, you know,

before the game, they're getting the fans up for it and that's great. You know, they're playing

the songs that will do that, local hero, etc., etc.

And then they introduce Yasser Aura Mayan, the Newcastle chairman, a close associate of

MBS from Saudi Arabia.

The fans go wild, you know, greeting their new overlord.

There are fans there with Saudi Arabian flags.

There are the guys wearing the Saudi Arabian gams. And I just thought, I don't know,

it just felt like being at a rally for a political party or a cause that you find abhorren

and everyone around you is going crazy for it and I've

never I don't think I've been in that position I guess because we we live in our echo chambers and so

you know we're not used to just being faced and and you know what's interesting is actually over the
