Training camp for the Capitals is set to open in just about one month.

No definite date yet, but roughly a month from now, training camp will be open.

The first preseason game is September 16th at Capitol One Arena against the Chicago Blackhawks.

So let's start getting ready for a new hockey season as we go around the Metro Division.

It is time for another Capitals Talk podcast as we spend the next couple of additions,

getting ready for a new season, which means deep diving on all

the teams that the capsule face starting in the Metropolitan Division. And today's podcast,

we keep it in the metropolitan area, the New York City metropolitan area, as we will take a look

at the Rangers, the Devils, and the New York Islanders. And we'll start with the Rangers, because that's the big city ticket.

That's Madison Square Garden.

It's the team that just kind of absorbs all the oxygen in the room.

When you talk about the three teams in the metro area, and the Rangers, they sent the letter out a couple of years ago saying it's going to get bad.

We're going to tear it all down before we build it back up.

And that is a hard thing to do in New York City.

It's why no team really does it.

I mean, the Knicks have sort of done it.

They've been dysfunctional for 25 years,

but they never actually came out and said,

we're going to tank.

The Rangers did and then realize maybe they might not have to.
