The Jets announced they're holding their starters out of the final preseason game of 2024.

It's the annual game between the two New York teams and the preseason. It used to be the Snoopy Bowl. They do not give out the Snoopy trophy anymore.

So, you know, there was no trophy on the line in this game and, you know, debatable whether there ever should have been a trophy in this game. And part of the reason, you know, you could debate whether there ever should have been a trophy is that the stakes are so low. I mean, this is a preseason game. There's not a lot on the line. And yesterday, Robert salla the head coach coach of the New York Jets, announced that the Jets are not going to play their starters in this preseason game.

He indicated that they will keep essentially the same playing rotations that they've had in the first two contests of the preseason in 2024.

And they have not played any of the key players.

And that includes Aaron Rogers.

Now, if you've been paying

attention this week, Rogers' absence from this game will come as no shock. And the reason for that

is Rogers was asked early in the week of whether he wants to play in the preseason. And he indicated

that, you know, he wasn't necessarily opposed to it, but his thought process was that it was not

necessary. His view was that the Jets

have had as tough of a training camp as he's had in recent memory, going back to his days with

Green Bay. And the training camp was so tough this year that he felt that it fully prepared

him for the season. And I think there were many different schools of thought about, you know, how

frequently you should play your starters in the preseason. And on this show, I've talked at length

about how I feel like teams that may be going a little bit too far on the side of not playing
