On today's show, we're going to talk the latest on Brees Hall, namely, everything is up in the air as the running back approaches free agency.

We'll also talk about the scouting combine, which will take place this week in Indianapolis.

We'll talk about players to watch, but we will begin by me giving a controversial take, because I think that the hype around the scouting combine is completely out of control. Over the years,

I've gone back and forth on whether the combine is actually useful in evaluating players.

Years ago, I used to think it was completely pointless. It was just a matter of hype.

My position started to evolve as I got deeper into scouting.

And I started to feel that there was value.

I've kind of swung back in the other direction.

And I'm not ready to say that it's completely useless.

I think there are players where there is value in evaluating the combine results. I think there are areas where the combine is

useful. But I do think that this has become the most overhyped, the most over-analyzed week

on the NFL calendar. What I will say is that in nine out of ten cases, the combine results should not radically alter your view on a player.

You're just getting a big picture on the player's athletic tools, what you got to work with.

But nothing that's really tested this week, even the position drills, tell you as much as the film does, whether a player can produce.
