Summary

It can feel so weird to jump back into normal life after the holidays. Especially if you’ve been working with us on Self-Care Daily and From the Heart podcast over these past couple of weeks, you have done a lot of work figuring out who you are at your core and what you genuinely want from life. And now you are getting bombarded with messages that are telling you to improve. This week on the show, we are going to counter all those messages telling us we aren’t good enough. Instead we are going to focus on our essence and why we are so beautiful already. Tune in to begin. Oh my goodness. It's 2026. Here we are. Happy New Year, everyone. Wow. I know we've done so much work,

0:15.8

so many self-care practices over the past weeks around intention setting and leading up to the new year.

0:22.8

And now all of a sudden here we are and it's just like a regular week. I always feel a little bit

0:28.6

shocked by how quickly we enter just regular life after the holidays. We are slowly, slowly

0:37.1

easing our way back to routine. And I know this time of year

0:40.8

is both really inspirational and exciting and we feel motivated to make so many things happen.

0:46.5

And you've set big intentions, I think, if you've been working with me a little bit throughout

0:50.9

December. You've set goals you want to make happen. You've figured

0:54.2

out what you're dreaming of. There's so much to do. We can have that feeling right now of there's

0:59.7

so many things that we have to get done and there are so many new routines we need to incorporate

1:04.4

and we have rules to follow and habits to not return to. And it can get really rigid this time of

1:10.6

year. We know there is no other time of

1:12.8

year where you see more new gym memberships or people subscribing to new ideas and new plans

1:19.6

for changing their lives. And of course, I love intention setting and I love doing that sacred work

1:25.9

of figuring out where we want to go in life.

1:28.4

But there is something about that new year, new me energy that I find really exhausting and really

1:35.2

tiring. And I don't really want to be told that I'm not good enough. And there's no other week

1:41.5

of the year that I am told that more times in a day than the first

1:45.9

week of January. Everywhere we look all across social media and the news and even in conversation,

1:52.8

society is telling us right now that we need to be improved. We need to be better. We need to look

1:57.8

different and act different and be thinner and be fitter and change who we are

2:04.6

at our core. New Year, New Me, right? And I really want to counter that. I want to call bullshit on that.
