Retro Hour podcast, Ravi and I are going to go through the headlines that will be making the top stories in the world of retro this week. And there are some pretty cool new developments. And then also, in the second half of the show, we dedicate it to a very special guest. Now, next week, though, kind of looking ahead a little bit, we're trying something a little bit new. We're going to do a two-parter. Can you believe it? Yeah, this interview is not just going to be a small 45-minute one. We're going to do it to parter. And the reason we are is because it's probably the most famous video game ever made. So, you know, it's worth talking about for that long.

Mega Drive game, can you believe it? Now, bearing in mind, this is 2017, you know, the Mega Drive,

1:40.8

what was its heyday 25 years ago now? Yeah, around. We all remember walking into game shops when we were kids, and, you know, just, even the boxes on Mega Drive games, still look impressive to me. Whatever mega drive games, you could throw them off a cliff and they'd be alright. Yeah, yeah. But wouldn't it be crazy to walk into a shop, like say, in a couple of months' time and see a brand new Mega Drive game on the shelf?

2:21.3

Absolutely. and they'll be alright. Yeah, yeah. But wouldn't it be crazy to walk into a shop, like say, in a couple of months' time and see a brand new Mega Drive game on the shelf? Absolutely nuts. And we've got the guy who's making it. Matt Phillips, he's actually using original Sega dev kits as well. Now, you met Matt at a retro gaming event last year, didn't you? Yeah, yeah, it was Game City, which was an event. I was doing some DJing it, and Matt was in the corner with this brand new Mega Drive game, and he had a little cart, and it wasn't even had a plastics around. It was just the bare cart stuck into the Mega Drive, and he's playing this beautiful game. Now, I did have a little go at the game and managed to kind of break it a little bit,

2:53.6

but you know, we're not going to mention that to Matt when he comes in the studio, obviously,
