with the head coach that the Saints really wanted to hire. What's the biggest story going on

in the Big Apple when it comes to the jet so far this

season we're also as also always great to be with you i always look forward to this we only get

to do this once every four years four years but i always i always look at look at the saints as a team

i kind of cheer for in the nfc because i look at your i know it was a long time ago, your 2009 season, Saints have kind of had a star crossed history the way the Jets had. So the fact the Saints were able to finally break through and win a Super Bowl gives me hope as a Jets fan. Love that. Love that. It's been a really rough ride for the Jets over the last 15 years. If we're being honest, over the last five decades plus,

Jets haven't won the Super Bowl since Super Bowl 3. They have the longest playoff drought in the NFL right now. It is now 15 years. They have been officially eliminated from playoff contentions. Expectations were not high going into this season. We knew it was going to be a rebuild. We knew that the jets were going to have to dig out from the mistakes that they made the last two years when they brought in Aaron Rogers.

They made a lot of very short-sighted decisions.

They gambled that certain veterans at the end of their respective careers had one more gear in them.

Nothing worked out.

The Jets came into this season, or they came into last off season without much cap space.

So we knew it was going to be a bit of a rough go.

They started 0 and 7.

It was a, you know, even with low expectations, I don't think anybody thought that they'd be 0.

And 7.

Then they started playing better football. They won three of their next five games. Two losses were to Baltimore and New England, both teams that are better. Jets did not embarrass themselves in either games, but the last two weeks have been brutal. They have given two no-shows against the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The defense has not looked NFL caliber, and that led to the firing of defensive coordinator Steve Wilkes, which is unusual with three weeks left in the lost season. I think that's about the way they played the last couple of weeks. So this is a young team. I said this going back, you'd go back to lockdown jets the spring and the summer. I said, the way this team finishes the season is going to be a lot more important than the way they started it. They started it poorly. There was a middle stretch where it seemed like things were starting to get promising. And the last couple of weeks, we've kind of regressed. We've kind of gone back to the team that was not functioning at a high level the first couple weeks of the season. Yeah, yeah. You know, that's a very tough situation.
