there all right we're in Daniel chapter six verses one through five today now

if you remember in our last episode the kingdom of Babylon was conquered by the

Persians the Meads and the ruler who is now in place is Darius now at that

time Daniel was one of the wise men one of the the visionaries the the Sears

so to speak in the court of Babylon and we're serving the king and he just

interpreted a vision for the king that foretold the king's end and that very

night the king was killed as Darius came in to take over the kingdom now here in

Daniel six we find a continuation of that story of what happens once Darius

becomes king over what is now the land of Persia so in Daniel chapter six

verses one through five we read it pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120

satraps to be throughout the whole kingdom and over them three high officials of

whom Daniel was one to whom these satraps should give account so that the king

might suffer no loss all right so let's pause for a moment a satrap is a

position it's an official of sorts who is under the rule of these other three

high officials and Daniel is one of those let's continue in verse three then
