she's a Welsh pop singer, she's a massed millions of followers, billions of streams.

Yeah, Marina Diamandis used to record as Marina in the Diamond.

So if this is names not ringing a bell, that's probably why.

And one thing I love about Marina's work is the way that she unpacks the expectations of womanhood with these ideas that we unconsciously absorb from the media and society.

And she's really good at finding this balance between those big picture concepts and weaving in more of a personal narrative alongside of it.

Yeah, these are really songs about rejecting the status quo, rejecting norms particularly as you say gender norms and the collective expectations were all brought up with.
