Hey there, my friends. What do you love the most about getting something brand new?

All right, friends, 2nd Peter 3, 11 through 13 is where we're headed,

but not before we pray, because we need the Holy Spirit to be our teacher.

So Lord God, guide us, Holy Spirit, illuminate our hearts and minds,

give us understanding of the words on the page and how they apply to our lives. We are asking it

in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, 2 Peter 3, beginning in verse 11, Peter has just told us that a day

of the Lord is coming when he will judge the heavens in the earth, and it will be a day of consuming

fire. And he's going to refer to

that again here in these passages. So let's read it. It says, since all these things are thus to be

dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for

and hastening the coming of the day of God,

because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will

melt as they burn. But according to His promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new

earth, in which righteousness dwells.
